Decarbonizing In Namibia
Decarbonizing Namibia Conference (Windhoek, Namibia)
On the 14th of March 2023, HVAC Namibia held a conference dubbed, the Decarbonization of Namibia in collaboration with the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade (MIT). The highlight of the conference focused on Namibia’s goals to reduce and eradicate use of refrigerants with high global warming potential and ozone depleting substances. The event was graced by the Minister of Industrialization and Trade of Namibia, Honourable Lucia Lipumbu who presented to HEVACRAZ’s Chairperson/ SADC RAC President Mr Cain Manyukwa, with a Certificate of Appreciation. As the keynote speaker, she was accompanied by various government departments of Namibia
Various SADC countries were in attendance representative of their HVAC Associations. Botswana represented by Mompati Maseko (Chairperson). South Africa was represented by John Parry (President of SARACCA), Michael Labacher (Representative, A-Gas) and Hennie Basson (Secretary General SADC RAC) the former President of SARACCA, founder of RAETECH which was the event sponsor. Zimbabwe represented by Cain Manyukwa (President, SADC RAC) who is also the Chairperson of HEVACRAZ and Cornelius Phillip Masendeke (National Treasurer, HEVACRAZ), also CEO of PhillAir Zimbabwe and Namibia as event sponsor. Namibia represented by Parastus Nepolo (Vice President, SADC RAC), also President of HVAC Namibia and founder of Millenium Refrigeration and Electrical (event sponsor), hosted the event. Lesotho was represented by Sello Elliot Motobelle who is the President of the association and was accompanied by National Ozone Unit Officer Seipati Theresia Mokoma
